Linux!!!

Hi, how are you? =)

I have something new on my laptop, it's Linux operating system =D
I've installed Ubuntu version and there was a variety of fails before I reached my Desktop there XD . Now I'm writing this post over ubuntu =)
I was really impressed by the set of softwares, both embedded and available to download. Some examples: LibreOffice, internet messenger, media, firefox and more.
I liked a property that's called 'Workspace switcher'. It's really nice benefit of the system, where user can easily switch among the applications running at a session.

Here is a screenshot: XD
And, you can very easily take a screenshot by just one step. Hit the Printscreen button(PrtSc) and you're done. Name it and save it.
I loved the system I really did. May I mention that it's very very simple?!
Almost forgot, if you liked to try it without installing, YOU CAN. Linux is unbelievable isn't it?XDDD

peace and all good stuff~

  1. I have to admit I'm always scared to change operating system...worried about the consequences if I make a mess of it or just don't like it. Also, what about interoperability with other software?

Everything else on my PC is freeware or open source (Open Office, VLC, Gimp, Thunderbird etc.), but I stuck with Windows 7. Is it worth the risk to go open source for the O/S?

  2. hi linoleum surfer!
good question. in my opinion you won't lose anything. give it a try then you can stick with it if you liked or leave it. but the fact is linux really really worths it. give Linux some gigs out of your hard drive to test it and you can also stay with windows alongside Linux.
Another thing, you actually can test Ubuntu operating system without installing. download it, burn it to a DVD and luanch it from there(DVD)
just try it, because it worths it

    peace~

  5. I love Linux! My husband and me are devoted fans of Linux! What we love about it- it's beautiful! Easy, Safe, Fast, FREE with lots of free applications! So much more reliable than Windows! We tried Kubuntu, Ubentu, Sabily (for Muslims) and some other versions too.
